You can defend against a federal prosecution
On behalf of John H, “Jack” Cunha Jr. of Cunha & Holcomb, P.C. posted in Federal Crimes on Wednesday, August 27, 2014.
There is a colloquial term used to describe a situation in which you feel trapped, helpless, and confused, with an impending sense of dread if not doom: It’s called, “that sinking feeling.” And if you have been accused of a federal crime, then chances are you have experienced it.
It is understandable to feel overwhelmed and intimidated when you find yourself up against any criminal charge, but a charge with a federal crime somehow sounds more ominous. There is a possibility that you have already been subjected to contact with federal law enforcement agencies like the FBI, the Drug Enforcement Administration, or the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. You may have already come face to face with federal agents and their technology, like wiretaps or video surveillance.
Not just any criminal defense lawyer is up to the challenge of facing off against the power of a federal prosecution. You need a law firm that is familiar with not just criminal defense, but with federal criminal laws and criminal procedure. Your rights and perhaps your freedom are on the line.
